ANNUAL PROGRAMS

Because we believe arts are relevant to everybody, TC Arts offers programs that meet the needs of many segments of the community.
Here's a list of some of our regularly scheduled programs. As we receive funds this list will evolve.

ARTS-IN-SCHOOLS
Every student in the Transylvania County School system---almost 4,000 in all---receives curriculum-related Performances and study guides annually.  Professional artist/educators provide weeklong Artists-in-Residencies in public school classrooms, providing students with indepth, hands-on learning experiences.
Take Art to Heart volunteers teach visual arts and critical thinking skills to first, second and fifth grade students.  Field trips to the Arts Center gallery teach students about regional visual arts, history and culture. TC Arts makes more than 13,000 student contacts annually.

ARTS CENTER GALLERY

TC Arts gallery space in the Transylvania Community Arts Center hosts up to ten exhibitions a year featuring local and regional artists. Exhibits include fine and folk arts, paintings, photography, sculpture, and mixed media. November brings the annual Art Mart, a sale of fine arts and crafts at significantly discounted prices.

ADULT ART CLASSES
Introductory art and craft classes have been offered to adults since 1998. Handcrafting with the Masters are Saturday classes that take place in the fall and winter.

FINE ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOWCASE
An event with a 35 year-history, our annual Showcase features excellent arts and crafts from throughout the region. The event takes place on Main Street in downtown Brevard, in conjunction with the Heart of Brevard's annual 4th of July Celebration and the Transylvania Region AACA Classic Car Show.

The Transylvania Arts Council office and gallery space are located in the Transylvania Community Arts Center at 349 South Caldwell Street (directly behind the Cardinal Drive-In).
