Adult Classes:

Small Group Independent Study
Small group independent study is ideal for self-motivated individuals who
have set goals or want to improve in a specific area of their skill set. Students
may bring their own projects to work through with Alia, or work on an
assigned project after discussing their goals. All skill levels welcome, but some
previous clay experience necessary in order to choose your direction. Sessions
are capped at 4 students.

Students provide their own clay. (Clay is available to purchase at the Arts
Council, or you may bring your own.) Firings are included for completed
greenware and glaze ware.
​
Open studio can be purchased in single sessions, or as a monthly membership (see below), as a great compliment to independent study sessions.

Pottery Curiosity
Whether you would just like to try it, are curious about getting into pottery
or working with clay, or have done this before but need a refresher --
This Class is For You!! It will be a fun morning with a lot of hands on time on
the wheel, and plenty of helpful instruction along the way.

Clay is provided! No firings are included in this workshop. If you wish to fire
your thrown pieces, ask the instructor about single open studio sessions.

Mastering the Art of Large Pottery:
A 2 Day Wheel-Throwing Workshop with Tori Motyl
Unleash your creativity and embark on a transformative journey into the
world of large scale pottery with our immersive 2-day workshop, "Mastering
the Art of Large Pottery." This hands-on experience is designed for both
beginners and intermediate level potters who aspire to add to their
skills in creating impressive, sizable vessels on the wheel using the
technique of stacking thrown sections. If you can center and throw any
amount of clay consistently, you can learn to throw big!
Class Dates: Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13
Class Time: 10am-4.30pm​
Note: Registration fee for this class includes clay, materials, and bisque firing.
No glazing will be done in this workshop.

​​​​​​​​​​​Mid-Range Glaze Talk: A Master Class with John Britt
Potter, author and educator John Britt will present and teach on practical glaze chemistry for studio potters, followed by a discussion segment in which John
will answer your questions and expand on topics as selected by the group.
Enjoy an early bird registration fee through September 30th!

Open Studio
Times & Registration
​Open Studio is available to current and former Arts Council pottery students (ages 17+),
and to other potters (ages 17+) with sufficient experience (as determined by the Studio Manager), who register for Open Studio. Registration is required for anyone who wants to participate in Open Studio.
​Open Studio is generally scheduled for Monday - Saturday. Studio times are:
​Mondays: 5.30-8pm
Tuesdays - Friday: 1-4pm
Saturdays: 12-2pm
Registration Fees:
Single session: $25/session
Monthly: $100/month (month-to-month basis)
Clay must be purchased from the Arts Council, unless otherwise approved by the Studio Manager. Cost of Clay: $25 + tax (25 lbs.).
