FALL 2023 - CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND REGISTRATION

Class Descriptions

Weekday Classes:

 

MONDAY: Art Explorations for ages 8-11: In this class, we will create drawings, paintings and sculptures, using many fun and creative techniques. Come with an open mind and be ready to learn something new and have fun. We will surely get a bit messy at times so smocks are required! Art Exploration will meet on Monday afternoons, from 3.30-5pm. Artist/educator Cindy Rehm is the instructor for this class. The registration fee for this class is $175. Ages 8-11.

Dates: September 11, 18, 25, October 9, 16, 23, 30, November 6 (no class on October 2)

TUESDAY: Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture for ages 12-16: In this class, which will be led by Cindy, teens and tweens ages 12-16 in Cindy Rehm's Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture class will use their powers of observation and imagination to explore drawing, painting, and mixed media techniques. Come with an open mind and be ready to learn something new and have fun. A small sketchbook is required. This class will meet on Tuesday afternoons, from 3.15-4.45pm. Artist/educator Cindy Rehm is the instructor for this class.  The registration fee for this 4-week class is $100

 

Dates: October 10, 17, 24, 31

Wednesday: Art Explorations for ages 5-7:  In this class, students will use their creativity, reading, writing, and art skills to express their ideas using a variety of artistic materials and techniques. This class will meet on Wednesday afternoons, from 3.30-4.45pm. Artist/educator Danielle Fox is the instructor for this class.  The registration fee for this 8-week class is $175.

 

Dates: September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 11, 18, 24, November 1 (no class on October 4)

Saturday Classes:

 

Saturday: Fools in Love, Devised Shakespeare for Ages 11-16:  In this six-week class, teens ages 11-16 will explore Shakespeare's comedic "fools" and his courtly love stories. With their instructor, Dr. Veronica Matthews, students will devise a fresh script based on these characters and stories, complete with all the lighthearted humor and joyous sorrow of star-crossed love. 
 
This unique workshop will inspire teens to think creatively about Shakespeare's texts and reinvent them to develop a performance full of rollicking, remixed love stories and raucous laughter - all fit for fools in love. This class will meet on Saturday mornings, 10am to 12pm, from October 21 through December 9, with no class November 4 and 25. A public performance will be presented for family and friends on December 9. 
 The registration fee for this 6-week class is $175.

 

Dates: October 21, 28; November 11, 18; December 2, 9 (no class on November 4 or 25)

Class Size: All classes are limited to a maximum of ten students.

Registration Fee: The Registration fee includes all materials, except as indicated in the descriptions above.  Payment is due at the time of registration. Registration is not confirmed until the registration fee is received by TC Arts.  Registration is also available by stopping by the Arts Council (349 South Caldwell) to complete the form and makei a payment.
