CALL TO ARTISTS

CommUNITY:

The People and Places of Transylvania County and Western North Carolina

February 27 - March 28

The Arts Council invites artists to submit artwork for its upcoming exhibit, CommUnity: The People and Places of Transylvania County and Western North Carolina, an open exhibition of fine art and craft celebrating the distinctive identity of WNC, and particularly Transylvania County.

Western North Carolina and our Transylvania community, specifically, are made up of many distinct places, diverse individuals, interactions, connections and other elements, all sharing a common space. For this exhibit, the Arts Council asks artists to explore the deep connections between geographical places, landscapes (from rugged mountains, to forests and incomparable waterfalls), community heritage, and regional identity.

As an open exhibit, artists of all ages and experience levels are invited to create and submit artwork in any visual medium (other than film/video) that fits the theme of the exhibit.
