“Collage is more than just an art style. Collage is all about bringing different elements together.” Once you form a sensibility about connection, how different elements relate to each other, you develop a stronger sense of design. In this workshop, we will learn to use found objects, even unresolved old paintings, and build layers.
Dates: September 21-25
September 21, 23, and 25: Class will meet from 10am until 4pm each day.
September 22 and 24: Open Studio from 11am until 4pm.
Location: Transylvania Community Arts Council (349 S. Caldwell St., Brevard)
Registration Fee: $475. Register online or by calling the Arts Council at 828.884.2787.

About Mary Alice
Mary Alice, a creative and innovative artist, works on new ways to evoke a sense of motion, texture and an unearthing of paints and colors.
She is a native Floridian now making her home in North Carolina. Mary Alice is a graduate of Florida State University and past president of Florida Watercolor Society. As president, she organized the first trade show for their annual conference which continues to this day. She directed Kanuga Watermedia Workshops for 17 years, and this year is proud to be one of their instructors.
Mary Alice was one of the three selected jurors of the 2022 NWS International Open Exhibition (IOE) and served on the selection of those receiving signature status. Her work is included in numerous featured articles, books, public and private collections.
Mary Alice, a juror of state and national exhibitions, continues to teach workshops - saying at 91 “retirement” is not in her vocabulary!
