


Mastering the Basics: Pottery Wheel with Alia!
Join your pottery friends at the Arts Council as Alia guides you through the foundation and some of the intricacies of throwing pots on the pottery wheel!
All beginners and intermediate potters are welcome!
In this hands-on, drill-based course, students will learn skills for the first time, warm up rusty skills, or hone skills through repetition, with an emphasis on one-on-one instruction and individual growth!
Specific skills will include:
centering (1-3 lbs.)
pulling vessel walls
shaping vessels
trimming
glazing with brushes and commercial glazes
Students’ best pots will be fired in our kilns at the end of the course.
When: Saturdays; September 6, 13, 20, & 27; 9:30am-12:30pm
What’s Included: Clay, glazes, firing - PLUS Unlimited Open Studio Access from 9/6-9/27
What to Bring: Yourself, bottled water, apron
