Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier is often described as a comedy of manners: disguises, social rituals, comic misunderstandings, and an aristocratic fool who is finally outwitted. But beneath the comedy lies something more searching. This is an opera about time: how it passes, how it changes us, and how love is transformed by the knowledge that nothing can be held forever.
Join us for this three-week exploration of one of opera’s most beloved masterpieces. There is no charge to attend, although a $10 donation per person is respectively suggested.
Three Wednesday Evenings: May 27, June 3, and June 10; 6pm - 8pm
