Class Descriptions

 

Adult Classes:

 

Throwing Sets: Adult Beginner to Intermediate Wheel Throwing

Hone your skills in accurate repetition on the wheel with guidance from a production potter! We will cover basics and go in depth one-on-one into techniques that will help you bring your throwing to the next level. Your best pieces will be finished, gazed, and fired in our kiln.

Class Dates: Saturdays, March 16, 23, 30, and April 6

Class Time: 10am-12pm​

​Hand Building: Decorative Coil Built Pots

We can't forget about handbuilding! Join Alia in the studio for this 3-session handbuilding class, and create your own coil built pot. â€‹

Class Dates: Saturdays, April 13, 20, and 27

Class Time: 10am-12pm​

Mastering the Art of Large Pottery:

A 2 Day Wheel-Throwing Workshop with Tori Motyl

Unleash your creativity and embark on a transformative journey into the world of large scale pottery with our immersive 2-day workshop, "Mastering the Art of Large Pottery." This hands-on experience is designed for both beginners and intermediate level potters who aspire to add to their skills in creating impressive, sizable vessels on the wheel using the technique of stacking thrown sections. If you can center and throw any amount of clay consistently, you can learn to throw big!

 

Class Dates: Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13

Class Time: 10am-4.30pm​


Notes: Registration fee includes clay, materials, and bisque firing. No glazing will be done in this workshop.

Youth Classes:

​

​Teens & Tweens Wheel Throwing 

This class, for ages 12-16, will meet on Monday afternoons, beginning March 18. Come learn and hone your wheel-throwing skills under Alia's guidance. Whether this is your first class or your tenth, you will learn and improve your wheel throwing skills and glazing techniques. Registration fee is $175 and includes the cost of clay and firing.

Class Dates: Mondays, March 18, 25, and April 1

Class Time: 3.30-5.30pm

Class Time: Please ensure that you arrive at the Arts Council a few minutes before class time so that classes may begin promptly.
